Kentfield is an upscale, quiet community of spacious homes set on large lots, naturally forested with heritage oaks, redwoods and pines. In Kent Woodlands, lot sizes are ½ to one acre. Some homes are secluded behind security gates to ensure additional privacy. Understandably, real estate in Kentfield is very desirable.

Located 15 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge, Kentfield offers a reasonable commute to the City. The Larkspur Landing Ferry Terminal is only a few minutes away off of Sir Frances Drake Blvd., along with the San Rafael Bridge to the East Bay.

Although Kentfield does not have the typical Bay Area fog, its average rainfall of over 45 inches per year makes it one of the wettest places in the Bay Area.

On weekends and evenings, many locals stop by Woodlands Market to pick up a take out dinner and a bottle of wine. Other residents drive to nearby Larkspur for its abundance of gourmet dining and boutique shops.

Situated at the base of Mount Tamalpais, Kentfield residents can enjoy miles of hiking and mountain biking. Adjacent Baltimore Canyon Open Space Preserve is a lovely canyon filled with stately trees and a spectacular waterfall.

Kentfield is home to the College of Marin, a two-year community college with a strong local presence. The College of Marin offers adult classes to the public and has a vibrant performing-arts program of theater, vocal, and classical music.
