Ross is considered one of the premier locations to live in all of Marin County, with its many exclusive, gated grand estates and luxury custom homes. Large properties sometimes encompass tennis courts and swimming pools, tucked in-between stately redwood and oak trees.

Located approximately 18 miles north of San Francisco, Ross is a small community of only 1.6 square miles and fewer than 3000 individuals. Residents pick up their mail at the post office in downtown Ross – there’s no home mail delivery, despite the fact that Ross is one of the wealthiest zip codes in the U.S. On weekends, friends and families can be found chatting at the post office, relaxing in sunny Ross Common, or heading out for a hike or bike ride from Phoenix Lake in the adjacent Marin Municipal Water District lands.

The Marin Art & Garden Center’s eleven acres of heritage trees and unique gardens is a community focal point for many recreational activities and classes. Abundant dining and shopping can be found in nearby San Anselmo or San Rafael.

Ross residents love their tree-covered hills, winding creeks and graciously landscaped streets and gardens. When the Town was incorporated, one of the first actions of the new Town Council was to make it illegal to cut down trees without Town approval. Homes in Ross rest under a leafy canopy that is unique in Marin County.

For good reason, real estate in Ross is some of the highest priced in Marin County.
