Stinson Beach is truly a “City getaway,” with three miles of walkable sandy beach, free of frontal roads or development and a quaint downtown. Only 45 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, Stinson Beach draws visitors from throughout the Bay Area who spend the day swimming, surfing, hiking or simply settling in with a good book. There are few overnight accommodations in Stinson Beach, so when the day crowd leaves, the town becomes very, very quiet.
Main Street has a few unique eateries, small art galleries and a surf shop. Locals and visitors alike stop at The Parkside Café for freshly-made doughnuts and coffee or linger over a long lunch of seafood on the outdoor patio. A small artisan bakery produces pastries and all of the bread used throughout The Parkside.
